Munich Mommies & Munchkins is a group for Mothers, Fathers & Nannies living in or around the city of Munich. It is meant to be a group where we share ideas, information, get together for play dates, family evenings, parents' evenings and offer support to families new to Munich.  Our group stays alive through Membership Fess (one-time), Class Fees and sponsorships.  We have been providing invaluable support to families with small children since 2003.

Candice St. Pierre, Founder

Candice St. Pierre is originally from Illinois, USA and founded Munich Mommies & Munchkins in 2003.  She was married to a German and has two children, one who was born in Munich (Sissi) and one who was born in Prague (William).  Candice holds an International M.B.A. and has lived in a number of different countries including Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Austria, U.K. and Ecuador.  She now lives in Greenville, South Carolina, but continues to stay involved in the group.

Georgia Dotsias, Partner & Thursday Group Leader

Georgia Dotsias is from Boston, Massachusetts, USA.  She grew up in a suburb of Boston and has a BS from Boston University.  She came to Munich, Germany 7 years ago and started working for a major company as a consultant.   During this time, she married a Greek/German and is now the mother of 2 girls - 5 yrs and 2yrs old (both Munchkin kids).   She has been a member of Munich Mommies & Munchkins since 2004, helping Candice whenever needed.  She started running the Munchkin playgroups beginning in 2006 and continues to work with Candice.

Melissa von Harrach, Monday Group Leader

Melissa von Harrach grew up in Vancouver, Canada and first travelled to Germany at age 18 as a nanny in the Düsseldorf area.  She moved to Cologne in 1998 where she went to university and later worked.  After a 2 year interval in Spain, she moved to Munich in 2006 and has been leading the Monday play group since 2007.  She is married to a German and has two small sons.

Martina Proudfoot, Monday Group Leader

Martina grew up in Ireland and moved to Munich in 1999.  She has worked in childcare since finishing college and has various child care and teaching qualifications. She originally moved to Munich to work as a nanny, and later worked as a teacher in a Bi-Lingual Kindergarten. Martina is now married and is a full-time Mother with two children, a boy and a girl. She became a member of Munich Mommies & Munchkins in 2005 and started running the Monday group, with Melissa, in 2009.

 

Philipa Kane, Wednesday Baby Group Leader

Philipa was born in Lusaka, Zambia.  When she was 10 her family left Zambia and lived in a number of other countries. Before meeting her husband, Philipa worked as a Flight Attendant.  She met her husband (who is Scottish) in Doha, Qatar.  Togther, they lived in Dublin where she worked at the International Airport as Ground Staff.  In 2000, they moved to Munich and she is now a full-time Mum with 3 kids, all Munich born, aged 8, 4, and 2 years old.  All 3 have been the Munich Munchkin experience. Philipa leads our baby group on Wednesdays.
